Well Maintenance Plan

1. Check the breakers. Make sure that the breakers are on and not tripped
2. Check the pressure switch (pictured to right). Make sure that the points are closed and that there are no ants in the contacts. You can clean the contacts with an emery board or sand paper. Make sure that you turn off the power to the switch before cleaning. Mothballs or part of a “cow ear tag” will help to keep ants out of the pressure switch. Note: If you have a constant pressure system, you will not have a pressure switch. Note 2: Mothballs are okay for pressure switches, but do not put them in a metal box.
3. Check the overloads on the control box. If you have a box that looks like the one on the right, there are either one or two red reset buttons on the bottom. You have to push hard (10 pounds of pressure) to make them reset. If they were tripped, you will hear a definite “click” sound. Make sure and reset both if you have two.
4. If you have a constant pressure controller, look at the lights on the front of the unit. If the red light is blinking, count the blinks and refer to the chart on the side of the unit. You can reset the unit by turning off the power to the unit for 5 minutes. If the fault continues, call us and tell us which fault you are experiencing.
5. If you still have no water, turn off the breakers to the well and call us for service.

1. Check the water level in the storage tank. If the water level is about 1/3 full, then flip the bypass switch marked “Reserve”. The switch is located on the side of the large gray electrical box. The system will deliver the remaining water in the tank until Bee Cave Drilling can fix the well. Please use water sparingly and contact us for service.
2. If the tank is more than half full, then check the pressure switch. Make sure that the points are closed and that there are no ants in the contacts. You can clean the contacts with an emery board or sand paper. Make sure that you turn off the power to the switch before cleaning. 3. If the tank is low on water, you can try to fix the submersible pump (in the well). Check the overloads on the control box. If you have a box that looks like the one on the right, there are either one or two red reset buttons on the bottom. You have to push hard (10 pounds of pressure) to make them reset. If they were tripped, you will hear a definite “click” sound. Make sure and reset both if you have two.
4. If you have a constant pressure controller, look at the lights on the front of the unit. If the red light is blinking, count the blinks and refer to the chart on the side of the unit. You can reset the unit by turning off the power to the unit for 5 minutes. If the fault continues, call us and tell us which fault you are experiencing.
5. If you still have no water, turn off the breakers to the well, and call us for service.
