In July of 1980, Bee Cave Drilling (then known as R&L Pump Service) began in the back room of Rex and Lois Bible’s house in Bee Cave, Texas. Rex grew up in a family of water well drillers and trained under Buster Enochs. By 1986, Rex had saved up enough money to finance a drilling rig and changed the name of the company to Bee Cave Drilling to reflect his expanded services.
The company remained a “mom and pop operation” with Rex in the field and Lois in the office with an occasional summer employee until 1993 when Jim Blair joined the staff full-time. Jim trained alongside Rex in the field drilling wells and servicing pumps. Along the way, Jim thought of new ways to improve what they were doing and Bee Cave Drilling became known amongst local home builders for both their superior systems and service. The company was able to grow and hire additional full-time staff. Jim took over management of the company in May of 1998 and became the owner in September of 2001. At that time Bee Cave Drilling moved to its present location northwest of Dripping Springs.
Over the years, Bee Cave Drilling has been the leader in adopting new technologies and methods to improve the overall functioning of water well systems and to take ownership of a water well attainable for more people. Today Bee Cave Drilling is perhaps the busiest water well company in the Austin area with a fabulous staff of around 50 people and a growing number of satisfied customers. We hope to be able to add you to that list. Check out our Services We Provide Menu to see what Bee Cave Drilling can do for you and our Testimonials Page to see what people think of our work.
